just save it, dont touch it, then if they do deduct it, you'll still have it in your account to use. They'll find it eventually, might even be worth mentioning it to the payroll dept.

There was a case where magistrates/judges had to return over payments made for 10 years...

I never said anything, company didnt notice, and have never heard anything and that was 4 years ago now...

haha nice one, this happened to me when i booked holidays i got over paid by a 150. i know its not alot compared to you but anyways it was a time of month/year when they changed somthing on the system and basicaly they cant trace it back that easily. but usualy they ask for it back as it happened to another lad at work when he had holiday pay messup, he got forced to pay it back. so just becarfull mate

they cant take it all back because they dont have permission to take from your account.
you will after set payment up each month, like a £10.
happened to a mate of mine a while back.
he pays £10 a month for next 2 years but got £1000 to spend.

Happened to me too, well I got paid an extra month after I left a company, I was due a weeks wages but ended up with the full month. I kept quiet but didnt spend it, got a letter through a couple months later expecting them wanting it back but it was a cheque for holiday entitlement I had already taken

i dont think they can demand it back. They can ask for it, but its thier fuck up, if you dont wanna give it back you dont have to. According to the union guy at my old work.
