Bonjour!

People who do running, do you ever get like pins and needles in your foot then it goes like numb/really aches? I never used to get it, but the last few times i gone for my morning run i've been getting it. Really hinders my performance as i concentrate on that more than running, it goes pins and needles first, then it just goes numb or aches really bad, people have said trainers are too tight, but today i did it with them hardly done up and it still did it. I'm baffled now on what it is, not sure if its a visit to the doctors or not, thought i'd check on here and see if other people get it/have had it before!

thanks!

they aren't tight but they are tight enough to hold them on my feet, might have to loosen them a bit more then and try that. They are proper running trainers to so can't be down to wrong footwear either. Its weird :/ its annoying too as it cuts my running down to half of my usual distance

I wouldn't go to the doctors - if you have the spare money, go to see a physio or someone like that. Both mine and my dads past experience of doctors with that sort of thing are wank.

It's good that you have proper running trainers otherwise you might have damaged some nerves etc.

May be take some aspirin about 2 hours before you run to thin the blood, might help circulation?! Don't take it just before you go out otherwise you might not feel your pain barrier etc and do more damage.

i might go see a physio actually, see what they can tell me. Its only in 1 foot too (my left foot - i'm left footed too)

Would try that aspirin but i usually get up at 6.15am and run till 6.45/7, could try the aspirin and run in the evenings instead, see if that helps! Is there any other things that i can do to help circulation? is there supplements/anything i can take?

Could be something to do with your arches rather than circulation - many running trainer manufacturers don't fit a particuarly supportive in-sole, so you might benefit from wearing orthotics, I wear 'superfeet' (just google it) to maintain the correct position of my feet and have found them to be ace!
