annother theory to my poor running is:
ive got a protech 4-1 manifold, and the lambda sensor is halfeway down cylinder 3's pipework iirc.
surely the sensor should be where all 4 pipes meet the collector to adiquitly monitor the gasflow
any one else had a problem using a 4-1?

It should be in the collector.
As in one branch, should that one branch go rich for some reason(a misfire) the ecu will see that as rich and lean out the mixture to All cylinders.
Could be potentially damaging.

yes vauxlad....cheers for the comment, but have you got one and have you had problems with it?.....
i know the theory behind where the lambda sensor should be located

I have a protech manifold here, im chopping off the collector and tig welding a proper one in with the lambda sensor in the collector.
