Right I have a problem I have my MOT coming up and I have no number plate lights BUT I can't fit any as I have no idea where the plate is going to go, this all depends on where the new exhaust goes, but the fact that the rear bumper has been cut limits what I can do (as this looks awfull and I was thinking of covering it up with a square plate???

Anyway here is mine:

Here is what I would like but apparently the wheel well causes problems and also I would be left with a horrible cut on the left of the bumper!

So... I could have one large exit on the left so that the cut out looks more purposeful!!

And where shall I put my numberplate, I have had the number plate light recess smoothed out so putting it on the boot is a no! I could put where the bars are and have an exhaust in each hole, but again, won't my cut left bit on the bumper look stupid!!!

Its so annoying I don't know what to do, and my MOT is up next week!
Here are some more random prowler kitted rears!

put the plate in the back window and put a torch to shine on it?

why not mount the plate in the middle and have an exhaust either side?

As I said, I would like to do this, but on the left part of my bumper, it has been cut, so don't you think this would look odd! And I don't want it in the back window, I have been fined once already for this.

I don't like the idea of putting the plate in the window.

As for cutting the other side, would you be suggesting a large exhaust coming out of each hole?

I'd be a bit aprehensive about cutting the other side though, incase I damage the paintwork and it would look awfull I reckon!

for now, just fix the number plate to the bars in the middle, attach some number plate light screws to light it up, then go for the mot, then decide after

Why do people come up with these great ideas for cars but forget the part which is legally required.

Wire in a temp tight for the MOt and then remove it after

That wouldn't work either, I would have to get the whole rear resprayed, and order in 4 different colours of expensive paint and the flake again and alot of laquer and the shimrin undercoat which would cost alot so thats out of the question as much as I would like to do that! And yeah I should of done alot of things before I got it sprayed!!

This is what I thought, how would I attach the number plate without drilling holes in the rear bumper and for the lights?

same as i did for temprary, use cable ties to fix it to the bars, then drill a hole at the bottom and fix the light through it, think its like a nut and bolt, and connect it to your rear lights, it will do for mot lol

Mine does simply because standard red lights look so awfull against the purple I even made a thread before about what lights people suggest as I hated my lexus lights, and people said to colour code them but i'm not so sure!

Kirby I may have to do this, but this still doesn't solve the problem of what to do for the long run!

KROOZUK-BEN thanks for the pointless comment

how about an exhaust like on the new lexus is-f with the tailpipes stacked instead of side by side so they would fill the gap in the bumper?
