I read recently that Arsenal were depending on doing well in the CL to pay for the new stadium, I don't know if they just meant passed the group stages or what??

yes, arsenal, if they had lost 4th spot last year would have been in massive financial problems regarding their stadium. Whether they earnt enough from the CL i dont know

actually they wouldn't of been in massive trouble aslong as they get full houses every home game.

99% of their debt is due to their new ground, they got a massive amount for naming rights, and rest was set off against revenue from gate receipts.

TBH the word debt although technically true is taken into the wrong context.

AFAIK the financial structure with regards to paying for the new stadium is no different to a normal person having a mortgage. Granted they OWE a lot of money but IIRC its all under control.

Besides, if all else fails, David Dein will be on the phone to Loans 4 u and Rachael will help him shrink his loan into smaller more managable monthly repayments.
