not sure why. when i go in control panel it says "no audio device"

in hardware it says everything is working properly. bit of help.

and also the speakers work when you enter and exit windows so they are plugged in and powered up

Do you have a proper idea of what card it is not by looking at the drivers?

nope. but the speakers work on one user account and not the other.

If you play a file in Media Player or something does it appear to play, just not make a sound, or does it give you an error message?

try going into Control Panel>Speakers & Audio Devices>Speaker Settings>Advanced, then select the type of speakers. If not however on the speaker seetings usually theres two options select the second option, thats what happend on mine!
