Just thought id post some pics up of the progress on my newish house. We moved in in August i think it was and pretty much everything needs done. It was an old guy who had lived in it previously and he'd lived there for near 30 years i think.
This was how it was after i removed the top part of the wall, It had stupid tiles on it which looked horrific. I also removed the Gatepost and gates as they were making the driveway really narrow.
Next up i painted the front wall bottom half magnolia and top bit red. While this was being done my mum's Boyfriend and a friendly neighbour started cutting down the trees on either side.
While inside I bought a steamer and stripped all the walls in the hall and bathroom ready for plastering. Also took the boards off that were covering the doors. I think we're going to get the doors dipped as they are nice enuf looking door. Pic below.
Meanwhile windows were ordered and French doors for the dining room. These took 3 weeks to arrive and were put in last weekend.
The stairs in the house are nice but were painted white so we've started the long process of stripping the paint off with a heat gun and using nitromorse on them. Unfortunatly i dont have a before picture.
The kitchen in the house is a complete disastre. 2 days after moving in there was a strong smell of gas so scottish gas were called and found a gas leak in the cooker and in the fire which is in my mums bedroom. Also one day i went to open the top cupboard to get a cup and the whole thing slid off the wall
and the new kitchen that is waiting to go in is in the front room.
Previous owners left a lot of junk, basement full of boxes, attic full of crap and the condemmed cooker so we are taking them to a small claims court as they refuse to remove the items.
I should be getting an extension after christmas as we are just waiting on planning permission at the moment. This should give me an ensuite bathroom and a wee bit more space in my room.
This is my room at the moment. Its surprisingly hard to take pictures that give a good representation of the actual size. The pic below makes my room look tiny.
My tool/clothes cupbpard which will become ensuite.
A new garage should be on the cards for next summer which should give me a nice place to work on cars. I wonder if my mum will pay for a 4 poster ramp for the new garage?
I will post more pics when the kitchen etc is in.

Netherlee, it is a fairly nice area but alot of chavs come from up busby/stamperland to booze down here. 3rd week of moving here i got hit on the head with a hammer by them. grrr wee cunts.

We've recently rennovated the house i bought in February, and trust me its alot of hard work but well worth it in the end

yes its not my house its my mums but i do what i can to help as ive learned how to do alot of things as my dad is a building contractor. I also get paid for how ever much i do which is good

Some new pictures for you all. The windows and heating system are all now in. They still need to be filled in etc i think. Here is the front of the house as it stands now.
I painted the side of the neighbours garage and it brightens it up a bit.
I only posted the inside view of the french doors so now here is them from the outside. They still need to get steps etc built up to them though.
Here is the back of the house. The top dormer is falling apart but it will be all renewed when the extension gets started.
Im going to need to clear out all the rubbish from this which used to be a green house till i took it down. Then ill need to dig the concrete foundations out which wont be fun.
Somehow i think we need to get a skip for this
Tidyed up the garage today as Im buying a Nova on Monday an this will be its home.
The driveway is very narrow on the house which i hate. It also needs re surfaced with mono block or slabs.
Thats it until next week when the kitchen gets started

I dont think the chimney's are too stable either but i havent been up on the roof yet to check. I dont know why they are so high but they are getting removed when the dormors get put in.
And we're going to take away all the hedges round the back and put in a nice fence and some slabs round the edge and then new turf in the middle with a slabbed area for a bbq behind the garage. Plain and simple. As much as id love a water feature i would loost interest and not maintain it.

wow i am a lazy cunt, havent bothered my arse to update this in ages:
Anyway lots of progress:
When we moved in the stairs had been painted white but after a few hours with a heat gun they looked like this:

My mums bf has also started to plaster the front room:
Anyway the extension got started last week. The front dormor is being pitched and there is a dormor going out my room so i get an en suite bathroom. Heres the pics:

timber framed extension is fine, half the homes in america are timber frame.
stick some insulation on inside then some plasterboard and it will be fine!
outside gets cladded and finished off like the rest!
progress is looking good will be a nice house

Im now wanting to get a glass door for the bathroom as today my room was soooo much brighter with those windows in, not sure if building control would allow it though.
