where is the crank/tdc sensor located on the c12nz engine, as mine is donald ducked??

C12nz has no crank sensor.
The dizzy has a hallsensor in it, which tells the ecu of engine rotation/speed.

my c12nz has but mines got a coil pack instead of dizzy

well, it wont start, theres no sparkso i knew it had to be sumthin electrical.
just had the local sparky round today and he scanned it n said theres no rpm signal gettin thru, so this means the crank/hall sensor must be goosed.

Change the distributor.
And check the wiring to it.
The late SPI's weren't c12nz's.
X12SZ's iirc.

definately a c12nz. d u mean just change the dizzy cap, cos the one thats on is only a few months old and no cracks in it

If its the dizzy causing the problem you have to change the whole dizzy, not just the cap.
Can use a decent 2nd hand replacement.
Check the wiring plug to it first, also remove the dizzy and check the drive pin hasn't broke off the end.

just checked drive pin, its ok.
wiring is ok also, gettin a + and - to dizzy

i have same problem on my 1.4 16v engine, the bracket is snapped from the block so the sensor is dangling, is there any way to fix?

change the sensor mate,you can get to it if you take your driver wheel off or just get underneath it,mine wasnt sparking at all.....realised the sensor waesnt plugged in
