I'm wondering why the oil level in my engine is always too high?X14XE
I always put the right amount(3.25 l + 0.75 l filter),then wait an hour or so for it to settle, check the level and it's fine, but after driving it for a while, and then check again in the morning when the engine is cold the dip stick is completly covered in oil above the racommended maximum.
I have a friend who drives an x14xe also and he has the same problem,he's like "Oh god i wish my car would spend just a little oil!"
So can you tell me whats the problem?I'm due to an oil change tommorow and i want to tell my mechanic to check it out...but don't know what to tell him.Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Ok, i'll put a smaller amount in and check to see if it's ok,but do you think that maybe it's a nother thing causing this?Has this happened to anyone before?Maybe an oil/gas mixure?I'm asking this just to be on the safe side.
thanks.

im sure x14xe doesnt take 4 litres even with the filter thought it was 3.5?
Only thing that could make oil rise is bore wash allowing fuel in very unlikely.
Or head gasket putting water in the oil!

sri power,yes ofcourse.
ainsley_brader,i've had the head gasket replaced recently, but since then my car is not losing any water,so i guess it's not an oil/water mixture.
