What it uses is a plaster based powder and a weak adhesive. It scrapes on a layer of powder and sprays on the adhesive. Then scrapes more on.

What they forget to tell you is they are fucking messy as they don't remove the ammount of powder they say it does. Also they forget to tell you that the models come out of so brittle that you have to alter your designs to accomodate for this, otherwise they disitegrate in your fingers while de-dusting. Also when you impregnate the powder with superglue after, or thier Z-Bond or whater they brand it as, you get left with a shitty finish on it which is pretty rough.

What you want is an FDM (fused deposit modelling) rapid prototyping printer. They print out your models in nylon, which means that you can have a fully working protoype straight out of the machine. For example our race cars at Uni use FDM's throttlebodys which work fully and are really strong! If you made it using a Z-Corp then you would end up with an enigne full of powder
