im thinking of getting some spray cans too, thinking of spraying my wing mirrors, theres a guide on here aswel which is quite detailed but unsure wether to get it done professionally

in reality ull 98% sure make a shit job of it and end up gettin it done professionally in the end so why waste ur time and money. also chance of reactions etc with proper car paint with the shite aerosols...

i can see your point
but i dout it would cost a great deal to do wing mirrors so its worth a try, or do you think it would be cheaper to get it done properly
im not too sure how much the cans cost

Some of the prices to get things done professional are utterly rediculous, i was quoted £300 to spray a bonnet, 4 arches and a boot handle.
Arches can be done by spray, as can the handle. Theres been many a decent job done by spray cans.

yeah i want my bonnet respraying too, and im going to phone vuaxhall up tomorrow see how much it will cost, im sure it will be stupid though

yeah and the bonnet ;archs and boot handle needs
prepped
repairs done if any
primed
rubbed down
wet on wet primed
painted
lacquered
with waiting time for flash off in between coats (during which a painter cant do anything else to avoid getting dirty) 15 mins between coats
fuel for oven and cost of oven
electric etc etc
paint and materials cost
denibbing time and waxing etc
U expect it done for free??
go ahead with ur cans, ill be interested to see the quality

Could be an experiance doing it yourself, so why not? you can always rub if down and send it to a shop if you balls it up right?

True enough. Seems to be easy enough by the tutorial, only part I'm wary of is the lacquer, can go wrong easily by the looks of things.
Hopefully going down to inverness sometime soon, ill pick up some paint etc when i'm there.

Seemed so expensive though, to do just the boot lock the guy wanted £55 odd, for a tiny bit of plastic.

Suppose one thing with a proper bodyshop job, you are guaranteed it will be a good job.
Prices up here are huge tho, as theres only one person that I know that does it, so he can charge what he likes, no-one else to do it
