ok boys, ive done a search but cant find much. iam wanting to put a 2.0 8v seh into a corsa. i just need to no what all do i need as far as carrying out the conversion?? is the 1.2 gearbox compatible?
what engine mounts do i need? (iam on a strict cheap budget)
wiring and ecu????
driveshafts?
iam also wanting to put twin 45`s on it at some stage, so any help there would be nice. thanks

Well dont no how much help this is, but I got quoted 1250 for the engine, gearbox, clutch and fitting, dont no if he ment that includes ecu, but i wud assume so. Also some better brakes are important, i no a boy that kept standard brakes and the thing handled like a boat due to the extra power and extra weight

you'll need an ecu from a cav sri 130 or a mk2 astra gte 8v.
mounts - you just need 2 litre mounts.

you will need a better gearbox than the 1.2?? f16 or f20?

haha a 1.2 gearbox with that'll be nippy as fook but your top speed will be awful.

can i get away without buying 2.0 engine mounts, as they are dear. can u modify the ones there??

It uses the same mounts conversion kit as the XE, same driveshafts and everything. Be better trying to find a used conversion kit. You will need the ECU and loom yes, and the 1.2 gearbox is actually a long ration box, its a heap of shite tbh. Most 2.0l 8v came with a F16 iirc, which is a close ratio box.

Just done this conversion myself...apart from the o/s mtg and spacers for the gearbox rear mtg it will go straight in....drives shafts are another issue tho...
