I know he has been linked with Pompey but I have been hearing more and more rumours about a return to Liverpool. What are peoples opinions on this guy?

IMO I wished we'd of signed him when he finished his loan deal with us a while back. He had a good 6 months and couldnt belive it when Houlier didnt offer him a contract.

With the right manager keeping his personality in check, and at the right club (he obviously still loves Liverpool from what he has said in alot of interviews) I think he could be a great player again, okus wouldnt cost the easth either!

He's the type of player I think we should be going for at Newcastle. 8.5m sounds a bargain to me for a player who is bound to score

Though if he did come to us he'd probably get injured after 5 minutes

At £8.5M for a proven Premier League goal scorer he's exactly what we need at Newcastle, however his temperament has always seen a little suspect. However I think Roeder would work well with him.

Would prefer trez personally, I can't remember alot of him on the pitch for us just a bit of bad attitude.

He is 27.

From what Ive read in Fowlers book he says Anelka keeps himself to himself mostly, so doesnt integrate well into the rest of the squad. He isnt really a trouble maker though from what he says.

We shall have to see, but I like it when a player wants to play for the club rather than just buying them to play there!

It's Anelka's brother that is the trouble maker. Oh and he's also his agent......

I rate Anelka, he's scored goals at every club he's been to and would be a good signing for anybody.

I think he's a waster. His record isn't exactly great in England either, Arsenal aside. Not really performed to his potential and as mentioned above, a cry baby and someone who'll disrupt the squad.

His nickname is 'the incredible sulk' :lol and I think he's 27.

He is awesome when he is on his game, He used to destroy everyone when he was on it for Arsenal. With the right manger keeping him in check he as proven he can still do it. He would be an excellent buy for any prem club imo.
