Does the thermostat not just come out the cover? It looks solidly fixed.

Seems rather stupid having to replace the whole metal cover for a £6 thermostat.

Any ideas on prices?

cant get them seprately, only get the hole thing for £90 odd

iv got one for £13 for a whole themostat.....

Ive just checked my stat and it open/closes fine, but the rubber o seal that seals the housing cover to the housing looks a bit old and brittle.
May see if i can just replace that seal, i'd say it'll be fine then.

Just for anyone wondering.
The thermostats ARE REMOVEABLE, and motor factors sell them for £4 with a new o-ring gasket. As i bought and fitted one today.

So dont let vaux fob you off with trying sell you a complete new cover.

The original stat just unclips out.
