has anyone ever used these short shift linkages that m-tec sell? Any problems to report?
I bought one but I can't seem to set it up right, and neither can anyone else who has had a go
If there is anything to report on them, can you please let me know. Cheers guys

Did you take the pin out of the box and put drill bit in to lock the selector in neutral?

What is the main problem you are having?
Try this:
1. Put the gearbox in reverse,
2. Put the gearstick in reverse,
3. Tighten the pinch bolt.

where should the selector on the gearbox be for it to be in reverse?
Main problem is im hardly getting any gears when i set the linkage up. I know the gearbox is good, because i drove the calibra before breaking it. And I'm following the instructions from m-tec but not getting anywhere.
Your suggestion sounds good though, i'll have to give that a try.

Its only a small adjustment to get all the gears i know that much, fractions of fuck all will just send it to pot.
Off top of my head though....
leave the drill bit in the box
get someone to hold the gear stick in the car
undo the linkage underneath
move the gearstick towards the drivers door a touch
then lock the linkage below
Did you shorten the standard corsa linkage to fit it to the f28 box?

Reverse is when stood at the front of the car all the way over to the right and straight back. It is bloody heavily sprung though and can be a bitch to get at to move accross.
Out of interest has the box been in pieces to change the speedo ring?

may have to cut some of the plastic away under the stick assembly inside the car to select 5th especially. i did abit of a tutorial to set it up not so long ago. it seems abit different in every car though as i swaped engines and gearboxes c20let + f28 from one corsa to another and i had to recut and weld the linkage as the gsi didnt like it for some reason.

Nope, TBH I was very lazy and couldn't be bothered doing it.
