right i doubt ull get one cos of fuel costs but how much does having one of these increase ur fuel consumption????? ive been told loads and at the mo i cnt afford to keep topping up!!! does any1 have any vids of theirs???

You don't use more fuel. It's just the noise makes you hoof it more often.

but ive been told cos u put more air into the engine it needs more fuel to balance the fuel and air mixture

yes thats right it does use more fuel, especially if youv got an open cone and suffer heat soak

That's what I used to think but after running both with an induction kit and without it I can tell you that it won't use anymore than usual.

wt do ppl recommend then cos me engine sounds ace inside with the injection but not outside so i wna nice sound without compromising on fuel

As suggested before mate, a back box would probably do you the job

it wont use a noticable difference, but it will use slightly more

it probably will used more but hardly anything you'll notice.


drill airbox and panel filter. didnt change my 1.2 16v sxi at all. Made it more responive tough. not very oud compared to cone but still gruff.

Mine wasn't too bad, good noise but it gave my car flat spots, put my airbox back on after I derestriced it and it felt like a new car, pulled so much better and no flat spots

wt exactly are flat spots wen warm air is taken in???? wt would be recommended then for a 1999 corsa b 1.2i 16v sxi?

drill the airbox if you want the sound, i had a piperx cone filter on my 1.2 corsa and it had so many flat spots. i drilled the standard airbox, it was louder and the revs wer smooth

I got a k & n induction kit off ebay quite cheap, couldnt afford anything better. Sounds lovely from the inside and nice on the outside but not stupid loud. I also have a back box so that helps. For some reason my fuel seems to last that little bit longer

I suggest a closed induction kit like mine^

I have found this to be best after having standard airbox and open K&N induction kits

Doesnt always use more fuel.........sometimes due to the small amount of extra air there is, the fuel thats there burns more effeciently!

TBH, ive had an open cone heat soke air filter, carbon fiber enclosed filter and standard air box.


best of the lot was the standard air box.

yeh i thought it would be best but i wna lil bit of noise from my engine withou compromising fuel!
