my corsa just failed, firstly on my blue rear clusters (fair point bulbs arent a proper red) then theres a heir-line crack in the catalytic converter! gona cost me £200 + for a new CAT, plus the MOt, plus labout crap

been warned to expect £350 above
gutted! and the car was ment 2 get kitted up 2mora!

just get an exhaust repair bandage, about £5 from halfords

hes a pretty good bloke, tho he doesnt do the MOT. not alot i can do, he has the car stil

Most places offer you a retest for free if it is within a week of the first one.

i know, sorry i mistyped the original Q
the first bloke said it needed a new cat, that wud cost £200, plus MOt plus labour is £350

took it to another, found same prob and sed he wud weld it so shud be around £150, maybe need a gas emmissions reader tho gona cost anuva £60 so thats £200

Mine passed first time on saturday No worries! I was told what i needed to do to get it to pass when i had my major service.

What engine is this for as my new cat for a 1.2 8v was only £80
Needed a new one as I had some welding done before the cat and it killed it

Yeah new CAT's are normally a massive amount of money unless your on a big engine.

Small engines only need a small CAT to restrict emmisions, yet on a bigger engine you need more of a quality CAT to deal with more emmisions and to restrict them within regulations.
