The temperature gauge on my dash, doesnt appear to work, it never seems to move. Ever

Where is the thermostat on a C12NZ, so I can check that? Any wires etc that I should check?

The thermostat isn't what supplies the dash gauge.
The dash is supplied from a small sender screwed into the top of the inlet manifold.
A single wire, spade terminal.
So check that wire.
