Ok here's one for you...

wtf is the noise that my car make at just over 3000 revs.

it does it whenever i reach the exact same spot and then stops if i go over or below it!

don't know if its the tappets or not so help plz

ok the times i reach that lovely spot are 20 secs, 26 secs and 31 secs which is the longest

Clicky here and help me

trying to sell car aswell so this wont help lol!

hard to tell does it sounds like a metal rattleing at 31 seconds ? mine was doin a rattleing noise it was the bracket that holds the cat on to the manifold had snapped have a look at the may b ??

If it's at 3k and nowhere else, it's external, some sort of bracket is loose somewhere...

thats what happened to me robin its kind of a bracket i cut it off started it up and then was blowing really bad looked again then relised it was part of the cat

incorrectly tensioned timing belt can cause funny noises at 3k+ rpm. seen it a few times.

so from how i described it, you all reckon it is defintaely external and not soemthing in the engone that is shafted?

i need to find some one to hold it steady while i have a look around later to try and get closer to where the noise is.

i had this problem it turned out to be my cam pulley was loose and sheared the inner and outer pulley that was fun!

IT WAS A RANDOM BRACKET AT THE BACK OF THE ENGINE

It was rattling against another piece of metal so i bent it away from it slightly and its sorted it wahoo!!

Thanks guys without ur help i wud have thought the engine was fucked or something!!

Think it's what put the first person off that came to look at the car... oh well lol
