i never play games but just got an x-box off my mate for the hell of it! the old one not 360...
anyway i wanna mod it, am i better off going for soft or hard modding? ive got a game on the download atm for trial, any recommended sites for torrents?
also for having your own music in games can i just put in a cd and rip it to the hd? cheers lovelys

Get it chipped first of all if it ain't done already, then get a uprated fan and bigger hard drive, then work on its looks.

not bothered on what it looks like, its hidden away anyway! all i wanna do really is download games for free... after ive done this can i just burn off a copy of the game to dvd? or would i be better off putting everything on the hd?

dont chip it, just soft mod it as its free and very easy to do.
once its soft modded yes you can download games burn them to dvd and play straight from the dvd.
you can also rip games to the harddrive, i prefer to keep games on dvd though, and games roms ect on the harddrive.
once its modded, download the xbox auto installer software from a torrent site.
its basically a dvd full of essential software and its all self installing.
