Does anybody have any info or general advice on these? Reliable, cheap parts and easy to work on if anything goes wrong? Any common problems?
Looking at one for my Mum. 1999 V reg, 54,500 miles, Red 1.7. Has air con etc. all works well, very clean and tidy. Under the bonnet is like new. Cambelt done at last service which was about 2k ago.
Took it for a test drive, very smooth and quiet. Handling was very good I thought. Quite impressed. Just want to make sure that they are a good car in the long run!

www.pumapeople.com for some info on them
I had one for a bit then sold it my sister three years ago and she still has it.
Been good car to run and maintain. No real problems (touch wood) compared to some of the cars I have owned since.

I'm pretty sure they are Zetec engines in them, so be careful with it and check the oil regularly. Fixes are by no means cheap.
Putting a Puma engine in a MK5 Fiesta is very popular apparently.
I think they look like good solid cars. For the age and price, I'd rather have a Puma over a Tigra.

They are decent little cars, not amazingly quick but very good to drive.

Racing puma's arent that quick on the road, but put it on a track and it's a whole different story, providing you can drive

Mother has one.
VERY reailable, good cars in general, no common faults, little quicker than a 1.6 sport, not that she cares

She bought it last night after taking it to the garage she uses to give it a look over. Just needs the front driver side wing re-spraying before the winter as there is a touch of rust starting to come through but nothing serious. Apart from that they said it was fine.
Thanks for the info!
