People who play football, is your game all about scoring goals or do you take greater satisfaction in getting a run or make a few tackles and passes?

I'm not too bothered about scoring goals, I've only scored 2! But if I get a few runs with the ball and manage to pass it in for someone to finish off I feel like I've had a good game.

So what are other peoples game all about?

scoring is (was) what I was all about. Followed by putting in some good tackles and being a work horse upfront/tracking back.

I take pleasure out of assisting rather than scoring, especially if it's a through ball played out of nothing.

My game is all about putting the graft in centre mid. I love taking posession and passing the ball on in 11 a side.

5 a side i love doing everything!

under 9's through to stopping playing when i was 18 i only scored 2 goals, both in the under 14's within 2 weeks of each other,i played centre back so tackling was my strong point, you cant beat a good sliding tackle on a wet pitch when you finish in possesion aswell

If you understand your team, then i think assisting is where its at, but if you've got a golden opportunity, why not have a blast

5-aside goal hang like fuck and try and score as many as possible

11-aside, play properly as a left back, not really going forward to much (as that involves running back)

Making chances, scoring, assisting other forwards, playing with 100% enjoyment, aslong as I enjoy the game and feel I've justified my selection then I walk off happy.

Depends on the job I'm asked to do, usually keeping things on the floor, winning my 50/50s, winning my headers, create chances for the strikers and getting the ball out wide to the wingers. Like to score 5-10 a season too which is important for a midfielder I think.

i am usually about scoring goals, a tap in is as good as a 30 yarder for me.

however recently, i've taken more of a pride in assisting. putting in a good cross, a ball over the top or a nice delecate through ball.....it makes you look better than the scorer in a way.....also its not your burdon if they fuck up

Scoring is nice but for me it's about your running off the ball and being in a good position to take and distriubte passes. I love pivoting and releasing quickly and finding tricky little diagonal balls

Agreed with luigi about it not being your bad if they fuck up

I play centre back and there is no better feeling in a game than winning a sliding tackle!!

Especially if your tracking back or a goal saving challenge!!

As above, football for a defender is at its best on a wet pitch making a sliding challenge!!

This is the main reason i prefer assists to goals tbh plus the fact i can't finish to save myself

i prefer a bit of everything, can play anywhere apart from central defence even a spot of goalkeeping from time to time

but you cant beat that feeling of putting the ball in the pokey

i used to play up front when i was younger, cos i was strong and faster than most kids, so scoring goals was easy, as the others caught up i satrted to play attacking midfield, now holding midfield so i only score belters now, so take satisfaction from interceptions and good threw balls etc etc
