Whats the best stuff to use - think Ed used hammerite on his.
Only issue is Petrol eats through hammerite

I just painted mine with underseal to protect it from the elements although it was pre treated with rust protection.
Petrol will eat through underseal too but it makes it easier to spot a leak when you can see the paint\underseal stripping off  besides a new tank shouldnt leak anyway so it wont need protection from petrol on the outside.

If its BRAND new it wont need painting, as there galvanised and will outlast the car.
