If it's just for one day, phone up early and say you've been up since 4am with the runs. Can't argue with that really.

Just don't turn up on friday this week, let him ring you etc and try and get hold of you.
Get a friend to ring up mid week (wednesday) , with a REALLY THICK accent, so hard to understand to quickly let them know you have been in a car accident.
The Monday (after you get back) ring him about midday and tell him you had been in a car crash and only just released from hospital that day, you were in a mates car, written off, horrible crash, blood everywhere ect.
You were unconscious to begin with however woke up and calling in work where your leaving was the last thing on your mind however you thought you heard that a friend of yours rang up just to let them know the score.
The docs were worried you might have damaged the muscles in your neck and unfortunately the mri scanner at that particular hospital was broken and awaiting repair and until they were sure your neck was fine they wouldn't let you out of bed without a neck brace and p.a.
You apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and tell him to gtf

or am i thinking this way to far through

You- "Hello boss i can't into work today, I'm very sick"
Boss- "Oh, thats not good. How sick are you?"
You- "Well, I'm sleeping with my sister... Is that sick enough?"
