Author broken brakes causing engine failure

fitted astra 1.6 brakes the other day and fitted all new hoses and pipes bleed them worked ok but then switched engine on to test them pressed the brakes and they didnt work and engine died now when i start the car the engine just dies for no reason please help someone told me that i may have broken the master cylinder because if you bleed the brakes and press the pedal the whole way to the floor it flipps the seals round in the master cylinder and my engine managment light is on can anyone help ?

have you disturbed the crankshaft sensor?

I'd say the master cylinder was gone... only way to confirm is to take the vacuum pipe off the inlet manifold that goes to it and block it with your thumb or something... and the engine should run

master cylinder wouldnt cause your eml light to come on.check all plugs and sensors to see if you have disturbed something.

bastard car put a new master cylinder in the engine ticks over now but still no brakes there can anyone help?

none at all pedal spongy as hell and yes i have bled the brakes

calipers on the right way around? bleed nipples at the top? sound like theres air in the system

thanks scott the bleed nipples were at the bottom dunno if it works or not yet because my dad wont help me bleed the brakes atm will haft to wait till tommoerow

fixed it i forgot to plug the water bottle back in and the calipers were on the wrong way round lmao
