Ive got that, dont use the leg thing though. Also has an overhead attachment which I also dont use, and a curling rest which I do.
If you just get a standard bench like that, then some decent free weights and bars then thats all you really need.

I had that bench. I thought it was shitty quality and felt like it was gonna break tbh. Definately better ones out there.

Was that when using the other stuff? As for a basic bench for free-weights its not too bad.

only wimps use padding for squats
pretty nice set up there john, wouldnt mind that myself. Instead i have to train with bicep boys who train biceps every day for 500 reps.
When i get a house with a mortgage i'll buy my own gym set up, power rack with some proper oly bars and plates. God i hope thats soon

lol the padding was there when i got it, cudnt be bothered to rip it off. my mate used to be a bodybuilder and this was taking up his dining room space so he gimme it on the basis he could use it, that was 2yr ago and he's used it twice ive got a propper gym treadmill to the right of the kickboxing bag.
Also came with 200kg of free weight, curling bar, tricep bar, handles\attachments etc etc so you can get a decent session done training any bodypart with this setup really. I only use it if i skip the gym though as the home atmosphere is shit for training IMO

I have that one jamie,(well similar) and I found the posistion the bar went back was odd, I kept hitting my arms...
AND its very flimsy and like brett said feel like its going to break if you have anything over 60kg being benched

Just finishing off my home gym...

Serious power rack, just put in a new flat bench and decline bench.
Cybex flat/incline bench I reupholstered myself in red leather (as the original was knackered)
Lat machine is great because I got all the other attachments so can use a pulley system for triceps/curling etc...
Got a complete set of dumbbells too to go in (when the supplier pulls his finger our and delivers the rack!)
Atmosphere is great in a public gym, but I'm making the most of training here...Guess thats why I tried to copy it as much as possible (full length mirrors, spotlights etc...)
And with my job its SO much easier to walk into the next room and train, instead of having to trek in and out all the time

This was SO true! Hence why I went the extra mile and re-did the entire room - pointless training at home if you really can't be arsed as soon as you walk in...
From bare walls built timber supports, damp proofed it, sealed it, plasterboarded it, fitted spotlights, insulated it all and had it all reskimmed then painted it fresh! lol
Loadsa work but well worth it IMO

Price depends on how you buy things, in february/march time you can pick up cheap weights from the "New Years Resolution Gymers" who last a month then sell on
Can pick up Power-racks for £200 ish nowadays, Seen an Oly set 140kg with bar for bout £120. Thats the start of your gym i'm guessing Gavins cost alot because of the extent of the decorating and redoing the room etc.
Damn im jealous, where do you live Gavin?

Yeah I'm still at home at the moment, but it's all stuff I can rip up and move to my place (when I get it)
Bar what work I did to the room itself (parents were totally cool seeing as I converted it to a habitable room now...)
Ideally I was going to extend the room an extra 10 foot out the back...but turned out to be too much work (I'll save that for my own place...)
I used my local gym and google images for inspiration....
This was a good guide, if I had the room this would be perfect

id fucking love a room like that, i hate having to share benches etc when i work out. I usually have an hour to do my weights and everytime i do like 2 sets, on my 3rd set and some little chav cunt has nicked it and trying to bench 100kg wastes my time and i cool down to.
And its a health place so its not full of weights, just enough for me to do my workout, only one set of each weights to
If i had the room i'd have one just like that ^^

Truely awesome home setup there Gavin.
Better free weights selection than my local gym!
Have just purchased my own power rack, bench and weights and that pic has deffo given me some ideas on setting it out and mirrors etc.

In total (including all the weights, dumbells etc... and materials to re-furb the room, cost of skimmer to skim the walls...basically everything apart from my own time and effort)
Circa £2.5k
Which isn't too bad considering what you've got to show for it (gym and body wise)
