Roughly, after how many miles do you have to replace a cat converter? Is it worth replacing it with a fast cat instead of a standard one?

mine passed the emissions test without the cat.
wasn't being tested for mot just curiosity.

How did u tell it had gone? Light on the dash? Mine came on the other day while i was driving but once i turned it off it didnt come on again...sound suspect?
