I was driving my '99 1.6i sport down the motorway, when i slowed down for a roundabout and tried to change down to 2nd to go round.
Basically i took the car out of gear and tried to put it into 2nd, the problem being it stayed in neutral but the car was still in 5th gear.
I hope your still with me.
Right the garage have seen it and said it is most probably a selector rod as he can see movement but it aint coming out of 5th gear. But without taking the gearbox out and stripping it down they cant be sure which is fair, but they said it will take 4hrs to get it out!!!!
Questions?
How long does it take to get the gear box out?
Is there anyway to get a better look at the gear box a sht eengine bay is packed?
Anyone have any other ideas?
All help would be much appericated

if you got a corsa b then it is easy shoudl be out within 4houres but if you got a corsa C
i think they are easyer to drop the engine and box out that just taking the box out, id say a garage would charge you about 6odd hours to just take the thing out.
