You cannot, its controled by the settings which the google maps app is using, what ever those might be it does as Ian says work in firefox.

It appears to be fine in FF and IE6 (Win2k), but opens a new window in IE7 in XP and Vista.
Bloody IE inconsistency

I do have everything within an Iframe:
quote:
<iframe width="640" height="480" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=109762659741840172327.00043beda5ae6c91fc674&om=1&s=AARTsJqrm_vH0AY9p2pjaEZ60qTTRzNWHg&ll=51.289943,-2.447548&spn=0.05153,0.109863&z=13&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=109762659741840172327.00043beda5ae6c91fc674&om=1&ll=51.289943,-2.447548&spn=0.05153,0.109863&z=13&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small>

Yes but, the links which are in the element of the map, which you dont exactly have control of the code over.. That is where they are defined to be doing what ever they do..
Why it works in firefox and not IE is anyones guess. : (
