Do you mean the part of the thread nearest to the centre point of rotation is touching against the wheel boss? If so, I would say the pads are fitted wrongly.
Or do you mean the actual calliper is touching the back of the spoke? Mine had very little clearance.
Do you have any pictures to help explain?

its the part of the wheel the bolts go through and touch the disc, the outer edge closest to the disc is touching the pads

Right, so you mean the central part of the boss on the wheel.
I still do not get what you mean though? Outer edge to me sits at the outside of the swept area of the disc so is nowehere near the boss.
I really would put a picture up if you can?

WTF? Thats almost as if the pads are too deep or the disc is outset over standard? What discs are they?
Is it the same on both sides?

It may be worth finding out? I had Fiat Coupe discs on mine and Speedlines (assume you mean Alessio 2's?) and did not suffer those problems. It may be worth taking the wheel off, jacking the car up and measuring where the centre line is of the caliper and the disc? (in terms of its rotation)
If I am right I suspect they wont match and the disc is effectively outset over standard?
Brand new pads I assume?

had similair prob with a lads Corsa with his speedlines he had try'd to fit his calipers but 1 wheel was catching his Caliper. took the wheels off and found he hadn't seen he had different calipers 1 was Cav V6 and the other was Vectra V6. Told him to take the Vectra 1 back and get the Cav 1 and prob was solved

16 inch speedline alessio 2's, calipers are the same, fitted correctly, only 3000 miles wear on discs and pads.
