I was driving towards a GATSO (grey one with markings on road) this morning, I knew it was there but because it was on the other side of the road I didnt slow down (doing 60 in a 50 zone). There were no markings on my side of the road, there was nothing else on the road, but it still flashed (twice) as I went past.
Am I in trouble? I thought they couldnt get you face on???
BTW if anyone knows the location it was on the A56 on the way to Northwich.
Is my license going to soiled?
Cheers all!

You were doing 10mph over the speed limit, so it's likely you will be receiving a letter through the post.

Flashed once and sometimes means you got away with it twice and usally you've been caught BUT I have been caught and the camera might not have had film in it cos I've never heard anything....

if your going towards a gatso then your fine. it will be a dumby camera. the only ones that take you from the front are specs cameras and trofelo ones which have round holes not square like gatos. they also don;t flash

Nice one Vibs, you have confirmed what I thought. The timing marks were not on my side of the road so the 2nd piece of evidence isnt there (they measure how far you travelled on the marks between the two flashes).
I have just found out that apparently cameras arent allowed to flash in your face, thats why (as Vibs added) the Specs and Trevello cameras dont flash.

Suprised it flased at only 60 in a 50, I always thought that they flashed going the other way if u were doing excessive speed e.g. 70 in 40...

Yeah you could be right Paul, I think they are a bit temperamental. I was probably doing less than 60 to be honest, probably a bird or a squirrel that set it off!

Same here! Saw some around Northampton today whilst on the way to PVD - I went past 1 a touch too quickly but didn't flash, but saw another later on and that flashed someone? Bit odd

Gatso's do flash sometimes for oncoming traffic, especially if your towards the centre of the road a bit, but you cant be prosicuted from it. They need a pic of the rear of your car, and the markings on the road.
I set them off for fun all the time!
