For a while now my car has seemed to smoke a little bit out the exhaust (whitish) but not like loads jus when im accelerating. Last night i noticed my water in my coolent bottle had gone down a fiar bit, (hasnt been checked for a couple of months ) could this be just a conicidence. ive checked for leaks but there dosen't seem to be any.

Well easiet thing to do is fill the coolant bottle back and check for leaks overnight. You should be able to notice it if your parked on a drive. If its going without a trace, take your oil cap off and see if you have a creamy looking substance, if you do its more thank likely the headgasket

ok then. how long should the water last on average. its a 1.2 8v btw

Well when your engine is on its constantly circulating. If all is fine, should last forever lol

lol o rite wel il keep an eye on it then. filled it up to the right level today soo il just keep checking, thanks for your help

Have a coolant pressure test done. pressure up the cooling system and leave the guage for about 10 mins. if the pressure drops then uve got a leak. do a block test aswell, this will see if any exhaust gasses are getting into the cooling system.

i have now found a slight oil leak when i leave it over night. got in the pit last night and i cant really see where its comin from. theres a thin layer of oil covered in what i thinks the oil sump.
