hey first time topic, just a quick Q, whilst im driving an changing down gear and coming to a stop my cars battery light comes on then oil and EM light come on and then cuts out?? is this something to do with having a sub and amp strapped up or somthing else??

icv is the Idle Speed Controle Valve
also sometimes refered to as a stepper motor

cant be that as the person who had it before had 1 put on as i bought it, but gotta admit sumtimes it idles at about 500revs then sometimes it'll then move up to 850/900 so i think thats when the ICV kick in but not always??

ditto have exact same problem
Little green car light comes on 5 seconds later cuts out!
and No speedo!!!!

icv is what keps your car ideling, insted of cutting out. if the car is one sec, what engine do you have in your car?

air flow meter. do a paper clip test to figure out what codes he ecu is storing

vss sensor, i think...... its located on top of the gearbox or in some cases on the back of the lights! i have had this problem for months...... but finally i think found a solution which ill be doing friday/saturday, so ill let you know if it works!

if the speedo isnt working i can almost guarantee fixing that will cure your problem, my wire had rusted behind the dash and had to be replaced, after that everything runs fine!!!

hi. have this kinda problem. but as said up 2...... mine doesnt seem to have a vss sensor. atleast not on the gearbox, as i have mech driven clocks not elec!
here's the symptoms....... driving along, about to change down, clutch in, and revs drop really low, almost 0, nearly stalls but just picks up to keep engine running (but sometimes stalls) clutch up and it drives fine etc. just when clutch is depressed.
done a paperclix, engine speed fault? or is this because the cars not running?
when you start the car everything is fine, but after 5 mins of driving, eml on and then the described fault.
also my clocks work fine, so any suggestions?

well just been to a local garage an had it on the diag thing(was free) and had a few faults inc lam sensor which i guessed would have had come on when my cat went, so had it cleared and going back 2moz for the results...also my ICV was not working properly but after the ecu had cleared it started to work fine.
will keep you informed.
