How easy are they to fit with the correct base plates?

They are easy enough to fit, just undo the 3 bolts that hold the originals in place and replace with the new mirrors and plates!!!!
if you have got leccy mirrors you will have to connect the appropriate wires for the motors!!
The the LED wires for the indicator part with have to be put into the same line as side repeaters or straight from the block!!!
The only problem you should have is getting the wires for the LEDs through the flexy tube between door and body!!!!
This is a real bitch if its like mine because it is a solid block!!!!
