is there anything i can do to check that my engine is properly earthed so i can see if its the reason it isnt starting?

Use jump leads from inlet manifold to the battery negative (or anywhere you suspect you have a crap earth!)

someone chuck some ideas forward for me to try, still getting no spark from the engine?

the engine is turning and fuel is going through i think as it does smell!

wat can cause no spark? and then i can check?

When you say you think fuel is going through as you can smell it, it may be that it is in the fuel rail as the pump is providing the pressure but if the injectors aren't pulsing it aint going anywhere. Have you pulled the plugs out to see if they are getting wet? Also bang an LED across the injector to see if it is pulsing.

If you have no feed at the injector and no spark then it will be either crank sensor or ECU. Do you have an EM light on?

Is this a factory setup or some sort of conversion? I assume it has just randomly conked out and has been in there from day 1?

no its a conversion from a x14xe, atm i havent got the chip to run the x16xe so trying to run it off of the x14xe ecu just to get it going. it should run!

but just not getting a sprk for some reason, we have looked at the spark plug to see if it is sparking but it doesnt seem to be

ill have to try the led across the injectors!

Fit the old engines crank sensor, see if its that.

when i left my crank sensor off it ran it just popped and banged like fuck
