I'm on the lookout for a lighter flywheel for my C16XE with F15 gearbox. Is there any flywheel and clutch combination that work so I can do it on the cheap as opposed to £200 on a light flywheel made for the 1.6?

i *think* you can use a nova flywheel and clutch of an sri or gsi as they are flat type and not a pot type one

X14XE engine? Is it a case of mixing the 1.6 and 1.4 clutch parts to fit onto the 1.4 flywheel?

Any idea of weights of the flywheels fella?

9.4kg (i think) 1.6 pot type
7kg 1.4 flat type

you want a 1.4 flat flywheel, can still use your 1.6 clutch friction plate if its new and then you need a 1.4 clutch cover

I'll be replacing the clutch anyway. Are the 1.4 and 1.6 friction plates the same? If they are I may as well just buy a full 1.4 clutch kit.
