why does it matter when it happened or if that team is (or ever has been) successful? Fact is it was fans of the club that caused the violence, and its not a first time it has happened in that country in the past few years.

anyway. punish roma, punish man u, punish the fans. but a team like AC Milan whos fans behave, and the team play well on the pitch should not be effected

UEFA have already set a precident for punishing countries when a few teams are involved, shouldnt be any different now.

UEFA are the biggest cunts going.
Nothing has even been said about it, and then they fine Anderlecht £13,000 for the conduct of their supporters, which to fair they did need action taken against them.
But they are not a big money earn for UEFA.
How much do the Italians and the Turks have to do, to even get a slap on the wrists, it seems they are more concerned with sponsorship than the safety and enjoyment of the fans.
Every English team got banned from all European Competitions when English football was the best in the world, indefinitely. Although in the end it was five years for all English teams and an extra year for Liverpool.
If they are serious about cutting down on this problem and let’s face it Italy has a serious problem when the government has to suspend football twice.
They should all be banned indefinitely until they sort it out with a minimum of five years as punishment and to get their house in order look at all the incidents with fans over the last few years in Italy not to mention the ref bribing.
Yes it will be a lose and reduce our viewing pleasure but fans should be able to watch football and not worry about getting stabbed.
