Which is the best way round to do it, refurb is booked in for monday, however shotblasting company called and said they arent busy today so can be done today, whats the best way round to do it?

shot plasting is shooting sand at high pressure, somtimes can leave a rough surface

That depends entirely on the grade of sand used Jean.
the difference in the grades of sand (size of grains) works in the same way as sandpaper - the finer the sand, the smoother the finish.
Dan - I don't understand what you are asking? IMO it has to be shot blasting, then refurbing, or the shot blasting will take all the new paint or powdercoating off?

Your wheels are powder coated though arent they?
I wouldnt have though shot blasting would have taken powder coating off personally

Shotblast them to strip to bare metal. Repair any dinks and whatnot. Then re-furb.

A referb should be just that, refurbished back to new ? why are you involving 2 companies to do one companies work ?

they need blasted first to remove paint, corroison etc
its bead blasting actually, sand blasting would leave the alloy like the surface of the moon

alloy wheel refurbers Acid dip the wheels the powder coat them.... thats it go for a pro refurber

i'd get them refurbed then blast with fine sand/glass then powder coat them

sorry guys, a shot blasting company was trying to tell us to refurb them first and then get them shot blasted with them
they were on a mates bike wheels but it would seem you guys want to do what we did in the end, got them shotblasted then they will be refurbed

your gonna have 2 different finishes on the wheel
should of had them refurbed then blasted
