best people to speak to about it are Dave A and Broster they both have a couple of the fastest 1.6s around and they are both in the trade so speak to them for bits

best advice I can give is to use a proper throttle body kit from the start. Bike bodies are a pain and very rarely give the gains a properly designed and developed kit for that paticular engine will.
Kit prices start at £1600 inc vat. bolt on straightforward fit, with an ecu ready loaded up with a base map and minimal wiring to do (4 wires on most applications) We can get this up and running on a standard car in 1 day.

Indeed, "proper" tb's are better.
But so they should be for the extra grand the cost over bike tb's.
The reason most bike tb'd engines dont make the same power as jenvey'd etc engines is down to poor inlet design(as it is a custom job)
Ive seen Mi16 engines make very similar power on bike bodies, as on jenveys.

As long as you get a decent inlet there is absolutely NO reason why a similar bore bike TB won't make the power of those for car applications.............I have some Yamaha R1 Bike TB's which will be perfect for a 1.6 when I get the time. Will run on DTA management so all good. No way am I paying stupid money for kits out there for car only applications.

as long as the inlet is tuned perfectly and the bike body is tapered in the bore and the manifold and trumpets are matched perfectly with the tb's then they do work well. just never seem to be as good installation and end results wise as a properly designed kit.
and when you cost up the final prices theres not a massive difference in cost.
