With the effort I've put into just one of them, when they're both finished I'll be going everywhere I possibly can to show them off
The trimming is a burning question at the mo. My leather/alcantara interior is a LONG way off and I'm not sure what colour I'll be going for either. So I dont want to waste money on leather when it might not be the right colour or finish. So I was thinking of doing them in the red vinyl that I did the boot in for now.
The speakers and crossovers are silver, I can respray the door handle and surround silver so there's not too much red going off.
Think it should look ok for now. Might even look that good that I'll leave it like that

nice.
you shud get some high build primer and ust spray it all in plastic paint (so its flexible) that wud be quite trick, i wudnt go as far as the french and air brush frogs on it or nuthing but i am sure that painted wud look quite cool.
dogs - try going to an industrial estate and finding a company that makes spa baths/lorry bodies/mouldings, there is one on almost every one i have ever been on and see if they can sort you out with some fibre glass - they will by so much that they cud probably sort u out alot cheaper than you could buy it for normally.
I think I am gonna attempt a custom dash in the future - when i get rid of my w@nk fiesta and get a car worth modding (son hopefully)

Ta luvs. Its been a long hard slogg, but it will be worth it. I got the glass fibre paste from halfords. Comes in quite a large tub for £12ish. I've used nearly two tubs just for one side. I didnt know where to get it in bulk and to be honest, I didnt think I'd need so much.
I'll see what the finish is like on the pods after sanding. I might cheat and use foam under the vinyl like I have in the boot. Will give the build a bit of 'body' and will disguise any bits that are quite so smooth.
Oi Dave, MAKE YOUR OWN

Quality, nice one... Good to see people still making things themselves... Now adays I read mags and its like 'Bill was well into modding, thats why he sent his car to Bla bla Bodyshop with XXXXX pounds of money - and 16 weeks later here it is'
It's like? not who's the best modder, but who has the most money!

They are the original panels (the top bit) just peeled off the fabric and foam that was underneath and cleaned it up with whitw spirit.Gave the fibre glass a good base to stick to.
I dont mind having a go at owt I think is within my capabilities. Some things are best left to the professionals tho.
No way would I attempt any exterior bodywork. I have to save up and give MSM the credit there.
I see your point tho Paul and I dont knock anyone for having a go and it turning out sweet
One thing I have to keep putting to the back of my mind is when this door pod is smooth as a babies bum and I've no skin on my fingers, there's another side waiting for the same treatment
