Seen this done before so had a play but the rain came

its a long exposeure shot 15 secs at f 3.1

I wanted a sort of dark picture but with a blue light all round the car like neons I suppose but thought it would be nice

This Is The Shot On Auto, No Flash

getting there but a bit too bright ( and obviously not in the middle )


Do I need a slower shutter speed? the apature was as far down as it would go in M mode ( Fuji S6500fd )

can you explain a little more?

you want an outline of light or just an ambient glow?

just a glow round the bottom of the car,

Cant find the original pic I seen

I was shining my L.E.D torch round the bottom from behind the camera

you've got the right idea about it, maybe take it to a darker place or somewhere where shadow shapes arn't cast upon the car.

as you can see on the 2nd image the street light has bleached the led light out.

have you got a copy of PS CS3? if so you will be able to edit the raw files to play with exposure settings etc.

you white balance is wrong, Im guessing your L.E.D torch shines nearer white, but that can be tweaked using Photoshop.

Yeah I will go somewere darker and get a better quality pic

I only have Photoshop CS2 is there an upgrade availible?

There isn't a plugin for The fuji .raw for cs2, but cs3 is compatible.

You can get CS3 easy, if you know where to look.

and no probs. nice to see people using the forum for its purpose al ot more recently.

Il have a look, My bro is a geek he "found" this version of PS last year sometime

Theres too many photoshop requests

I was reading right through Snap Day the other night looking for pointers

Would be easier to take the car under a street light and then add photoshop neoons.

that shop just feels shopped to me even if I didn't read about it being so,maybe as the blue seems a little bright, that and the shadow of the car is still underneath, I guess if its experimental photography your after then go for it, if not have a play in PS like CorSRi_BT did.

yeah im not after picturing neons on my car lol

just having a play with my new cam in the drive hence the rubbish quality like shadows all over the place, Il find a nice dark car park

I remembered doing this before christmas, not totally what your looking for but, just shows how the reflection from my phone works to create a nice reflection.



was just a mess about, but I plan to do it with sparklers or something hehe.

Im actually from Derby, my bro's at Lancs Uni & my mate moved up there.

The car-park I took this photo in was pretty much pitch black, but because of the long exposure it soaked up all that light and so looks pretty tasty.
