Im having some problems with my 1.0 engine.

When I put my foot flat down in second gear the car sort of pauses and

doesnt want to pull forward and the engine light occasionally comes on.

This occasionally happens in other gears as well.

Understand the car isnt meant to go fast etc but know there must be

something wrong with it.

Any help appreciated, cheers.

Need to read the fault code out really. Search on here for paperclip test or find a garage that has a code reader.

Sounds like the usual air flow meter problem.

Paperclip test and code readers dont work on the X10XE's or X12XE's though.

AFM 99.9% sure. Mine did this, but with no EML, so figured it wasn't a major problem yet. Replaced it with one. Hasn't done it since.

I agree. I bought a genuine, slightly used 2nd hand one. Works fine.

I know what you mean, mine does that abit. Does yours tap/rattle on tickover? Then be alrite above 1000 revs?
