i know its not a vaux but please read on

i have only had my saxo vts for about a month and i knew the petrol consumption was bad but i didnt realise just how bad so the other day i put £20 in which is about half a tank and that went down to a quarter tank after only 25 miles. so im getting 25 miles to a tenner any ideas what it can be thats causing it?

it is a 98 saxo vts with a chip and powerboost valve and nos
