I got a new manifold and am going to fit it tomorrow. I know that the oil filter has to be removed due to clearance but if I was to take it off would all the oil drain out? If it does I may aswell drain the oil the propper way and do an oil change while im there.

easier without the filter there though and you know it
Even more so if you don't seperate the OE manifold from downpipe

it makes no difference, the filter is miles out of the way.

so I should be able to get the manifold down past it, I was looking at the down pipe- might not bother separating it. Cheers for your help lads.

easiest way is:
unbolt front pipe from the cat
unbolt downpipe from the manifold (4 bolts, usually snap anyway)
remove manifold from head, clean face of head
fit new gasket and manifold.
