I fitted a stereo to my girlfriends 1.6 16v sport last week, and sinse its been fitted the speedo doesnt work. I have checked the fuses and they havents blown, any ideas? james

Can't see how the stereo fitting would have stopped the speedo working, it's just plug and play. Check the connections behind the clocks?

I have but its weird how its done it on two of her corsas now, and as soon as you take the stereo out, it works again.

Other than what I suggested, I ain't got a clue mate. You wired it up correctly? As in got the right adaptor plug for the stereo?

well theres aloada wires copped at the back of the stereo, someone has butchered it. But the plugs still there, and its just plug and play, but I cant see it being a loose connection if it works, then when you put the stereo it it doesnt, then unplug it and it does again :S

In that case, start again with the stereo wiring. Tuck and tape away the power and MFD section of the loom, add an extender to the speaker part and still use that. Then run a permanent live, switched live to a new ISO power connector with blank ends. Earth it to a bit of metal under the dash (theres an earthing pint just behind the gearstick )
