right blew my engine last night (more like drove it with out oil :lol

so now i need a new engine

so whats the easiest swap that i can do for say something like a 1.6 ??

if its gonna be a pain then whats needed too fit a 1.4 ?

iv been converting mine today cuz mine rattled like fook put it all in and found out that i had the wrong ecu

you will only need an engine box and loom 2 to a 1.4 8v in mate all your pipes shafts mounts etc will b ok i think

what the difference in the looms can i not just swap the e.c.u. cant be bothered with looms n sh1t

The loom really isnt hard to change at all and you will almost certainly have to have the loom with the new engine, depends which engine you go for

so what about the box can i not just use the 1.2 box .....quicker acceleration ??

If it's a F13 CR then yes. If it's a F13 WR then no.

It should say it on the top of the box.

so i'll need engine , box (if mines the wrong one ) engine loom and ecu ?

is the engine loom a plug n play thing or does it have too be joined anywhere

and is there any guides on this stuff ?

Will be plug and play in the footwel but if you get an engine/ecu with an in built immobiliser you will need the chips from the key and the pickup that goes around the ignition barrel. easier to go for a non immobilised ECU though if you wonna keep it simple

what about the 1.6v aswell is that the same as the 1.4 8v plus the fuel pump and lines e.t.c.

Easiest swap would be another 1.2 8v (45bhp) or the 1.4 8v (60bhp hi-torq) engine.

Either of the above will bolt\plug straight into your current running gear.

No Loom or ECU changes just bolt the engine straight in and go.

does it have too have a distributor for it too be an easy swap , without looms

mine has a distributor and all the hi torq engines ive seen dont

Yes the 1 with the distributer.

My old corsa and my mother current astra are the 1.4 SPi 60bhp hi-torq lumps and they both had distributers.

ahh right my mate has the same engine in hi astra

so aslong as its the distributor 1.4 engine it should fit straight in ?
