got a 99 astra 16v and it seems very underpowered between 2000 and 4000 rpm. like it has a massive flat spot. also has a small judder around 2500. not a misfire just a hicup. any ideas on what to check out first...

When was it last serviced?

They have problems with the AFM that when gunked up, power is lost.

i realy dont have a clue when it was serviced last.iv only just got the car. i have changed the sensor in the air pipe. that made no differance..

usual things??? been out for a drive tonight and the car seems a lot worse. im thinking maybe plug leads as its damp and foggy??

fine untill its warm? could be the headhasket

is it misfireing

also could be the temp sensor

Usual items such as,

Plugs
Oil and oil filter
Air filter.

My dad had a T reg Astra 1.6 16v Sport. That was down on power. Then it came to service time and it was all ok.

got a similar problem on corsa, had to change EGR valve and temperature coolant switch, was a lot better but still not right

will get service done this weekend then.. as for a missfire. i would say no.. ithas a bit of a hicup
