^^ as above really, I filled up to the top earlier and I noticed the smell of petrol as soon as I got in my car, and when I pulled up outside of the Gf's... I noticed when I went home and pulled away there was a spillage on the road and my girlfriend said it stank of petrol!!!
My dad also said that it smelt of petrol on the driveway earlier
Bloody car... there's always small problems!
What could it be? My dad said that it could be the fillercap may be a bit loose?! And that I shouldn't fill it to the top (he told me afterwards lol)
Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?
Thanks in advance

Get under it with some eye protrection and a rag.
Clean off where the petrol is leaking down and find out where it is coming from.

Chances are its right on the seem where the 2 halves are welded together in the factory.
This is where mine was on my GSi. New tank about £70 but if you drain it and drop the tank you may be able to repair it with something like chemical metal.

Hmmm maybe not but its still a 10yr old tank mate.
Should be able to tell by looking under the car. If its the tank it will have stripped the paint\underseal from the tank and it will be quite obvious.
