As above, just put a deposit down on a 2 bedroom semi detatched new build property. Prices arent too bad around here, they started off at 135k. A new offer now makes them at 129k!

Luckily my old man works for the firm that is building the houses and has done well for the company in the job he does. The top boss asked him to make sure i could get a mortgage which i can. Now all my dad has to do is go in and find out how much he'll let it go for.

Thankfully i have a 20k deposit, even then i can only really afford a 40yr mortgage of 105k approximately (depending on final asking price) which will be 550 a month, living on my own.

Any tips on things i need to buy, urgent essentials you need from the off? I wont be moving in for a few months, want to slowly get everything in place instead of rushing straight in.

I've no idea how you go on about sorting electric bills, gas etc, basically registering yourself to your new house. Its all quite confusing!

I know, i would like 30years but its far to much each month for me with living on my own to afford anymore.

I get a fridge, cooker/oven and washing machine, bathroom and kitchen already in.

Looking forward to it but also not!

When he (she?) finds someone to move in with properly though can always remortgage at a later date, so should work out fine, its difficult especially on your own to do much less than 40 years at the prices they are at today
