I need a new HDD because mine is extremely slow and noisy, making grinding noises. My mate at Uni who is a Mac Genius down Regent Street said I need a new HDD and this is tell-tale signs of it wearing out etc.
Question is, HDD's off eBay (that say they are brand new) are much cheaper than the likes of TekHeads and eBuyer.
Being a HDD, it's quite crucial that you get a reliable one, so that you don't lose all your work etc.
Would you guys buy off eBay? Or somewhere that will be supply better warranty?

Personally I wouldn't. I'd rather have somewhere I know I can send it back if something goes wrong like I've had happen with various components in the past

Just found that - very similar price to eBay, as delivery is free.
Just need to find out if SATA mobo is compatible with SATA II HDD! (I have seen your post in the other thread!)

It should be as usually a SATA II is switchable to SATA I anyway and besides I don't think any current technology is using SATA II hardrive speeds at the moment. My switch made no difference so left it on the default 'I' setting.
